The mission of the Farmer Veteran Coalition of Texas is mobilizing veterans to help feed America. We cultivate a new generation of farmers and food leaders, and develop viable employment and meaningful careers through the collaboration of the farming and military communities. We believe that veterans possess the unique skills and character needed to strengthen rural communities and create sustainable food systems. We believe that agriculture offers purpose, opportunity, and physical and psychological benefits.
FVC Texas strives to support its nearly 5,000 members by fostering community, promoting their products, and providing resources and technical assistance. Texas has the largest population of veterans in agriculture of any state. The Lone Star State’s farmer veterans come from diverse backgrounds and are involved in equally diverse farming endeavors. From producing cattle, crawfish, mushrooms, corn and everything in between, Texas’ veterans are fully engaged in the mission of feeding their communities and beyond.
